Summer 2026 Non-Competitive Swim Team Pilot Program Guidelines

This pilot program offers a limited opportunity for younger children of Moraga Valley Pool (MVP) members to join the swim team with modified participation and volunteer requirements. Participants in this program do not participate in swim meets.

Please note: These guidelines are for the pilot program only and are subject to change as deemed necessary by the Swim Board and the general MVP Board.

Program Participation Rules:

• Season: This non-competitive program is offered only during the summer season and does not include fall or spring swim clinics.
• Capacity: Enrollment is limited to 5 total families per summer season and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Swimmer Limit: A maximum of two children per family are allowed to participate in the non-competitive program simultaneously.
• Membership Limit: Each MVP member family is permitted a total of two non-competitive swimmer registrations over the lifetime of their MVP membership.
• Registration & Fees: Fees for the non-competitive swim program must be paid in full upon registration, with no exceptions.  No refunds will be issued once a swimmer is registered for the non-competitive program.
• Transition to Competitive Team: A swimmer registered for the non-competitive program will not be allowed to register for the regular competitive swim team or participate in any summer swim meets until the next season begins (e.g., fall meets).

Volunteer Obligations:

The volunteer commitment for non-competitive program families is modified and includes:

• 1 Bottoms Up shift
• 1 OMPA shift
• 1 Meet job
• 1 Social job

Exception: If a family registers one child in the non-competitive program and another child in the regular competitive swim team, the family must fulfill the full volunteer obligations required for the regular competitive swim team.
