Skagit Last Chance Qualifier 2023 Results and Upcoming events
Good morning all,
First things first, big thank you to all of our volunteers and officials! We had a very successful meet yesterday, full of fast swims, and this opportunity is only possible with your support and dedication :)
Overall, our team had 35 personal bests this meet! I'm always super impressed by the improvements of our swimmers, but never shocked, since I see all the hard work and dedication these athletes put into practice. Our biggest priority is always to have fun and I'm happy to see so much improvement over the past few months along with the smiles that accompany a really positive team culture.
Our biggest time drops this meet (I'm including two this time since they were both 25 second drops) come from Sarah Fernandez with a 25.97 drop in her 100 Free, and William McCann with a 25.61 drop in his 50 Breast). Way to go!!
Congratulations to Shelby Bahe for qualifying for Regionals in the 100 fly following a 3.32 time drop, and to Rowan Johnson for qualifying in the 50 back with a 5.66 time drop!

Our next meet is the YMCA Regional Championships in Boise! If you are qualified and are able to attend, I highly recommend going:) The deadline to sign up is very soon and I will be sending out notifications for it. Always a great experience for the swimmers and families, and as we continue to grow as a team I have no doubt that we will end up with many more qualifiers for next year.
Following Y Regionals, we will be having a team banquet! This will be a potluck style event, details TBD but will feature a brief awards ceremony to celebrate the successes of the swimmers this season. I have been keeping track of personal bests, time drops, attendance, and other fun facts and can't wait to share them with you all!
Best,
Joseph Shelly
