March 3/30 Update: Banquet, Fundraiser, and important dates

Good morning!

Hope everyone's March has been going well so far! As we are on the final couple days of the month, I wanted to give a brief overview of what's coming up:

• Our swim team banquet starts at 5:00pm tomorrow (3/31)! We will be setting up the room around 4:00pm, so if you are bringing anything feel free to show up early! This is a pasta feed / potluck so please bring something to share if you can! No practice that day, just food! There is a signup genius on the event page that has been organized to help with the pasta :)
• April 2nd is the last day to get any hanging baskets orders for our fundraiser! Please spread the word and see if anyone would like a mother's day gift or just have a nice hanging plant to have around the house or yard. Thank you to those who have already gotten back to me, we are trying to raise money towards a scoreboard that will end up costing a few thousand at the minimum and anything helps! I will be making a final in-person call at the banquet.
• April 3rd-April7th is our Spring Break! Coaches will be completing trainings to build upon current USA Swimming certifications. Formal practices will not be held, but we encourage those of you who are not traveling to have some time in the water! Laminated practices will be available on the desk in the corner of the bleachers.
• April 21-23 is a meet at Anacortes (in meters)! This is a fun opportunity to swim in a pool that is longer than what we are normally accustomed to, and registration will be available as soon as the host team sends me the meet entry files.
• April 30-31 is a long course meet for swimmers who have made silver standard times. I have already reached out to those who have qualified and the deadline to register is April 1st! Long course pools are what the Olympic swimming races are held in and coaching staff is actively looking for at least one more opportuinity in the summer for swimmers to try it out! More opens up in the summer, so we will see as time goes by.
• May 7th is a home meet! It will most likely have similar start/warm up times as previous home meets, but more information will be coming shortly!
