Admin Official Class Opportunity!

Joseph Shelly

Hi all,

I have received an email from our lead official instructor, and he is planning on making a new officials class for those who can help with administrative duties! Our northern region is very short on Admin Officials (AOs), and so we are in need of volunteers who could help! I have been running the time system during our home meets, and assisting AOs that have been gracious enough to volunteer from other teams.

AOs are "dry side" officials who keep the meets running and verify that times are correct and have come in. They also manage DQ slips and organize time sheets and other documents that get brought to the table. If you've been to one of our home meets, you may have seen the admin table with the splash screen that is usually next to the pool on the side.

While I do help the AO during our meets, I do not have the certification myself, and so our team usually reaches out to Snohomish and Whatcom for help when we host. Having some of our own volunteers acting as AOs would be a great help in our ability to host meets, and like the timers, they also get the best seats in the house :)

If you are interested in learning more about the AO role, and/or are interested in signing up for the AO class that will be offered later this month (via Zoom), please email me!

Thanks!
Joseph Shelly
