April 22 Update: Important dates/deadlines and upcoming events

Good morning SVY Tritons!

I hope everyone had a great and mostly sunny weekend! Here are the important swim team dates & deadlines coming up soon:

• Van Wingerden Hanging Basket fundraisers orders are due tonight (April 22)! These may be ordered through our donation form on our website (link here), or online if you would like to email me your order / have the order charged electronically. I will be sending orders off on Tuesday to make sure they can process everything for their May 3rd delivery date.
• The following meets have upcoming registration deadlines:
  • The 2024 Starlight Open in Wenatchee has a deadline of April 30th. This will be in an Olympic sized 50 meter long pool! Last year we had a great showing with those in attendance, and the meet ran very smoothly. The competition takes place on June 21-23 and we definitely have enough interest to go!
  • TAC Spring Thunderbird at Anacortes has a deadline of May 16. This meet will be run in meters (we normally swim in yards), and is a great opportunity to have experience with the metric system before we have our long course/ Olympic sized meets!

I am looking for more opportunities for us to swim LCM (Long course meters - the Olympic 50 meter sized pools), though several meets seem to be waiting for hosts to step up. I will let you all know any developments as soon as I see them, and will be placing likely meets on our schedule.
