Skagit YMCA Volunteer and swimmer opportunities March 2025
Hi all!
There are a few volunteer/job opportunities popping up and I wanted to send this now before I forget.
The first one is our Special Olympics swim team program is starting back up next week. This is on Thursdays from 7:00pm-8:00pm, and I will be coaching them again! This is my third season with the Special Olympics team, and they have always been great to work with. They do need volunteers that will help and be in the water. This is open to any high school age swimmer or adult - please send me an email if interested. Great way to build a resume and help serve a very underserved community!

Swim Lessons Instructors work directly with program participants to teach water safety, encourage swimming achievements, and develop character within participants. As certified YMCA Swim Lessons Instructors, wages start at $20/hr and go up to $39/hr.

Lifeguards are also listed on the job listings, and is a great first job for swimmers if they are interested. I started out as a lifeguard and swim lessons instructor before going to college, and I am happy to offer any advice/guidance, or be a reference for any of our swimmers:
