Results uploaded for Hazen!
Good afternoon Tritons,
We had a great, long, meet last Saturday and had a very strong showing! This was the third meet weekend in a row and we still saw 60 personal best swims. Meet results are uploaded to the website, and I will be sending out the PDF shortly!
Congrats to those with new Y Regional qualifying swims:
- Ella Inman in the 50 Back, 100 Fly, and 100 Free
- William McCann in the 100 Free
- Eileen Munoz in the 50 Breast
- Landon Taylor in the 100 Back
- Merrick Weishaar in the 25 Breast
The biggest indicator of success isn't just effort being put into each practice, it is consistency! I saw this speech from a track coach (several speeches like this, but I liked the way he explained what he saw): https://www.youtube.com/shorts/CuE7gJkYQIc
As we get stronger as a team, the practices should continue to be challenging, and technique always refined and developed first. This week we will be taking extra time to run through the most common DQs as well as race strategies. This is the perfect time, as we are due for a slightly "easier" week after ramping up yardage and intensity since our September start. I was really proud to see our team consistently being ahead on turns and underwater technique, but there is always room for improvement!
My next newsletter will be later this week if not tomorrow, and I will let you know what the next events leading into winter break will be.
Looking forward to the rest of our season!
