Pre-Team (MiniBolts) and New Swimmer Evaluations
 
Evaluations for pre-team swimmers and swimmers in their first summer with Calverton:
 
Prospective swimmers and new swimmers should attend the coach evaluations at the pool to determine their placement on Tuesday May 30, Wednesday May 31, or Tuesday June 6 at 6:30pm.
 
 
Team swimmers age 9 - 18
Swimmers will have a strong freestyle stroke and will practice, aim to perfect, and compete  using the official freestyle, backstroke, breastroke and butterfly strokes.
 
Team swimmers age 8 and under
8 and Unders on the regular team must be able to swim half a length of the pool using a  freestyle-like motion.
 
Pre-Team (ages 5-8) (Mini Bolts)
Pre-team swimmers must be able to float face down in the water for at least 5 seconds on  command and should be generally comfortable in the water.
 
Sparks (ages 4-6)
Children unable to float face down in the water for at least 5 seconds on command and convey  a need for swimming lessons to develop a general comfort level in the water.  Swimmers may be invited, by the head coach, to practice with an older age group based on the  swimmer’s proficiency with the swimming strokes and experience with interval training. Lessons will occur in two week blocks, and coaches may bump swimmers up to pre-team.
