Senior Swimmer Recognition Policy:
A Senior Swimmer is defined as a swimmer who is graduating high school that current school year. MCSL rules state that a swimmer’s final year of eligibility is the summer the swimmer is 18 years of age as of June 1st.
A graduating senior, who is 18 years of age on June 1st, will be recognized as a Senior Swimmer and that summer will be their final year of competing in the MCSL.
A graduating senior, who is 17 years of age on June 1st, MAY choose be recognized as a Senior Swimmer with their fellow graduating seniors on the team. They will still have a final year of MCSL eligibility to compete the following summer as an 18-year old.
A 17-year old graduating senior MAY also choose to defer their senior recognition to the following summer when they are 18 years old and in their final year of MCSL eligibility to compete. There will only be one senior recognition per swimmer.
We will recognize Senior Swimmers at the final home A meet of the season.
Our team strongly encourages all 17-year old graduating seniors to return for the final year of MCSL eligibility the following summer and represent Damascus as a Super Senior Swimmer. Your dedication to the team and leadership both on deck and in the water is invaluable to our community of swimmers.
Only Senior Swimmers as defined herein will be recognized.
