Our summer season culminates with a large league-wide championships meet.  It is a three-day event and is a LOT of fun for the kids and for our families.  It’s also a fast pool (this means that the kids usually get better times than they do during the regular season).  This year Championships are July 17, 18 & 19th 2026.

Note: Swimmers need to participate in THREE regular season meets in order to participate in champs.  They also need a valid time from the season in each event they want to swim at Champs.

The biggest meet of our season is the summer-ending RCSL Championship Meet. One of the largest swim meets held in the entire country each year, the League estimates that almost 2,000 swimmers will compete for the coveted Team Championship trophy.  They begin on Friday evening with the 6 & Under Championships session and all day Saturday and Sunday for all of the other age groups – 8 & Under (except those who choose to compete in the 6 & Under Championships), 9 & 10, 11 & 12, 13 & 14, 15 & 16, 17 & 18.

The 6 & Under session is set up to run in about 2-1/2 to 3 hours on that Friday evening and for these newcomers to our sport to have an enjoyable “taste” of what the big Championship meet is like.  

Like the dual meets, you will have the opportunity to sign your swimmers up for this meet starting in late June.  In addition to requiring swimmers to be registered with the League through their team, swimmers must compete in three (3) dual meets during the season and have a valid time in each event they want to swim in the Championship meet each season. 


Also, like the dual meets, we will be assigned several “jobs” to perform at all the sessions of the meet.  We will have the online registration system set-up for you to use to volunteer once we have our assignments (usually around July 10th).  We need every family attending to volunteer for at least one job at one session during the meet.

Our swimmers work so hard all season and championships is the culmination of all their efforts. Nowhere is our Stingray team spirit more evident than at champs. Champs is a FUN and team oriented event. It's just like our dual meet swim meets (with 9 more teams)! Just talk to one of our veteran parents and they can tell you how awesome it is.   

DATES AND LOCATION

  • Little Champs, for 6 and unders, will be held on July 17 
  • Big Champs is July 18-19.  
  • Championships will be held at the Bolles School pool this year. The address is 7400 San Jose Boulevard, Jacksonville FL 32217.

When it is time....  DECLARING YOUR SWIMMER INSTRUCTIONS:

  • PLEASE declare your swimmer for champs asap!!!  The deadline is  tbd!!!!  It's very important that you either accept or decline the championship events so we can submit an accurate roster to the league. The process is just like declaring your swimmer for a swim meet. Even if you are not attending championships, we need to know so please "decline" the event.  
  • All swimmers who have attended at least 3 meets during the season and have times on record for events (this DOES include DQs) are eligible and invited to attend championships. 
    • Meet results can be found in your account on the website to show how many meets your swimmer has swum and what strokes they are eligible for at Champs
  • When declaring, you need to choose a maximum of 5 out of the 6 events offered, (there is no minimum - see agenda below for schedule). Only choose events you will be attending and are qualified to swim with a 2026 time on record (2025 champs times also count).   

VOLUNTEERING AT CHAMPIONSHIPS 

  • Please sign up to volunteer.  All families attending champs MUST sign up to volunteer a minimum of 1 shift. The specific jobs will be determined after the league assigns TFS the jobs they need us to fill. When we release the volunteer sign ups please sign up to volunteer for the shift you want and a job will be assigned to you later.  You can include in the notes your preference and we will do the best we can to assign your preference (timer, clerk, marshal, any). If you don't sign up to volunteer, a job will be assigned to you at check in. If a parent does not sign up to volunteer, your child will be unable to attend Championships the next year.

CHAMPIONSHIP AGENDA

  • Little Champs are scheduled for Friday, July 17 
    • Warm-ups are at 4:00 pm and the meet starts at 5:30 pm.
  • The Big Champs schedule is as follows:
    • Saturday, July 18 (morning session) Ages 10 & Under:  Back, Short Free, Breast, Fly, IM (Warm-ups: 7:30 am & start at 8:30 am)
    • Saturday, July 18 (afternoon session) Ages 11 & up:  Back, Short Free, Breast, Fly, IM (Warm-ups 12 noon & start at 1:00 pm)
    • Sunday, July 19, Ages 7 & up:  Long Free, Medley Relay & Free Relay (Warm-ups: 8:00 am & start at 9:00 am)

NOTE:  Technical swim suits are not allowed for swimmers age 12 and under. 

FOOD AT CHAMPS: We will have a food sign up closer to the date of Championships by our Champs Committee. 

HOTEL:  If you are interested in staying at a hotel during Championships, we recommend staying at The Fairfield Inn and Suites.  This hotel is just minutes from Bolles.  The address is 4888 Lenoir Avenue Jacksonville, Florida 32216.
