Our main season practices begin in April. Meets are scheduled througout June. Championships are held at the end of July.

We do not offer programs August - December.

Please keep an eye on this website for information on how to register (new info gets posted in February).

See 2026 year info drop down menu for registration information when available.

New swimmers must meet these 2 requirements for safety reasons:  1) be able to swim the length of the pool unassisted  2) be able to tread water in the deep end for 1 minute unassisted.

The Stingrays are composed of boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 18.  No competitive swimming experience is required; however, ALL swimmers should be confident in the pool, be able to swim the length of the pool unassisted, and be able to follow directions from the coaches.  New swimmers will be required to take a swim test to determine eligibility.

Before you  register , please understand that TFS is one of 10 teams in a competitive swim league.  As such, we have the following two (2) requirements:

  1. Your swimmer(s) are required to participate in at least three (3) of the scheduled swim meets.
  2. A family member is required to volunteer at each meet your swimmer participates in.

If either of those requirements is not completed in a season, your child will be wait listed for the following season.

If you are unable to fulfill the two requirements noted above, please forgo  registering .

The team is divided into practice groups by the coaches based on ability and age. Each child should attempt to practice with their assigned group whenever possible. Swimmers may be moved from one group to another during the season if the coaches feel the swimmer’s ability, attitude and circumstances warrant such a change.

We rely on e-mail, text messages, our web site (www.swimtfs.org) and our Facebook page as the primary means of communicating information on team activities and schedules. Please get into the habit of checking these sources on a regular basis to stay informed on what is happening with the team.

Competitive swimming is one of the most unique and challenging sports in the world.  In addition to being one of the most complete forms of exercise, it is also a great deal of fun.  It contributes greatly in the development of a well-rounded young adult by teaching many important attributes such as sportsmanship, cooperation, dedication, goal orientation, discipline, team spirit, pride, humility and many more.  Swimming is one of the very few sports that allow an individual to compete for himself and his team.  It is a highly technical, difficult to master sport involving complex strategies yet can be both enjoyable and relaxing as well.

Swimming is a FAMILY sport.  It REQUIRES sacrifices of time and effort of EVERYONE in the family.  Parents must be willing to VOLUNTEER their time to help with team activities, make arrangements for your swimmers to get to and from practices and meets, pay the various expenses and SUPPORT and ENCOURAGE your swimmer's efforts.  Swimmers must be willing to SACRIFICE their time for practices and meets, work hard in practice to develop their skills and improve their conditioning and cooperate with your teammates to achieve both your own and the team's goals.
