Stingrays Swimmer Code of Conduct
All South Riding Stingray swimmers are expected to meet following standards of sportsmanship. All participants in the South Riding swim programs are expected to:
-
Respect and show courtesy to teammates, coaches, visiting swimmers, parent volunteers, and meet officials at all times.
-
Demonstrate good sportsmanship at all practices and meets.
-
Set a good example of behavior and work ethic for younger teammates.
-
Be respectful of teammates’ feelings and personal space. Swimmers who exhibit inappropriate behavior will be subject to disciplinary action.
-
Attend required team meetings and practices unless excused by my coach.
-
Members of the CSL program must commit to being available for a minimum of 3 Saturday A-meets. As swimming is a team sport, the individual swimmers' commitment to these dual meets is a requirement of membership on this team.
-
-
Show respect for all facilities and other property (including locker rooms) used during practices, competitions, and team activities. This includes keeping our team area clean and free of trash at swim meets.
-
Refrain from foul language, violence, behavior deemed dishonest, offensive, or illegal. This includes swearing, sexual talk, racial slurs, harassment, and bullying.
-
Limit the use of electronic devices on-deck to urgent needs only and not for entertainment or social media. Phones and electronic devices should be kept stored away during meets and practices.
-
Discuss meet official’s calls with my coach and not approach meet officials directly.
-
The use of drugs or alcohol will not be tolerated.
I understand that if I violate this code of conduct, I will be subject to disciplinary action determined by my coaches and the swim club’s board of directors.
