SAFE SPORT TRAINING
Sahuarita Stingrays is committed to providing a safe, caring and friendly environment for all of our members. To this end, the Stingrays would like to offer USA Swimming’s Safe Sport Training for our members.
Annually (from your registration date), families can receive one participation credit for each parent/guardian and athlete that views the online training. As, the Athlete Safe Sport training is more appropriate for those aged 12 and older, a parent may choose to also view the Athlete Training and discuss those topics from the Athlete Training as a family sees fit with their younger athletes.
Once you have completed the training, send an email to:
with the names of those trained and the date. Once verification from our LSC is received, credits will be added to your account.
For Parents:
The USA Swimming Safe Sport Program is proud to offer free athlete protection training to the parents of our member athletes. Parents are a critical component to our overall goal of protecting children from sexual abuse. The comprehensive online programming includes information about how offenders operate; how to recognize and respond to boundary violations, myths and facts about child sexual abuse and USA Swimming’s Athlete Protection Policies and Procedures.

For Athletes:
USA Swimming has developed a free education program for athletes aged 12 and older. The training course covers such topics as:
- Inappropriate contact
- Physical, emotional, and behavioral boundaries
- What to do if your boundaries are violated
- Who to tell
- How USA Swimming can be a resource
By learning to protect yourselves, you also learn how to protect your peers; and together we can make the sport safer for everyone.
