What is it?

This is an invitational meet for the 6/unders and 7/8's only.  It is a fun and fast paced meet and is a great opportunity for the  younger swimmers to get more meet experience before the bulk of the season gets underway.  This is the perfect opportunity for your little one to get meet experience with just other littles (no big kids!!!)

Date and Time

  • Date:  Sunday, June 9th 2024
  • Gates Open:  7:30AM
  • Warmups:  Benicia will warmup from 7:30-7:45 in lanes 5-8.  Note gates open, and warmups begin, at 7:30.  Please arrive early and line up with your swimmer ready to jump in the pool immediately for warmups while you set up camp.
  • Meet starts:  8:40
  • Meet Ends:  ~11:30, usually earlier than this

Location

  • Rankin Aquatic Center
  • 100 Buckley Street in Martinez

Team Camp:

  • Benicia will share camp space with Crocket, Gehringer Park, and Pinole Seals.  We share the grassy area and covered patio behind the orange cones (along Buckley Street side).
  • ALL tents must be anchored or tethered due to high winds.
  • PLEASE make sure you set up camp in the correct location. In 2023 our entire team set up in the wrong camp.  Get there early to ensure you claim a spot of your liking.  Do not set up on the other side of the pool in the LMYA/DHST area (which we inadvertantly did last year).
  • The play pool, diving well, and shallow entry steps are off limits to swimmers.

Volunteer Assignments

  • ALL families will be assigned a volunteer job.  If you are a trained  Stroke and Turn Judge, you will likely be assigned to work as a meet official.  Other families will be assigned a Timer/Recorder shift or a shephard shift.  All workers need to be 15 years of age or older.
  • Jobs will be assigned (you do not pick) after registration has been completed.  No shows for volunter jobs will be charged at $150 (you will lose your volunteer deposit) and this deposit must be repaid before your swimmer can participate in future practices or meets.  Last minute emergencies, please text Jeanne Woodford at 708-853-0928.

  • If your swimmer is placed on a relay (coach's decision), the team will cover the cost of the relays. You will be notifed of any relays likely the day of the meet.
