Volunteer Hours for Returning Club Members
Downs Farm Swim Club relies heavily on our members to volunteer to make each opening, and our entire season, successful.
The volunteer hours options is 4 hours per family (not per individual in a family). If choosing to volunteer to be refunded the $100 volunteer fee, please review the information on this page and reach out if you have any questions.
Volunteer hours will be announced for certain specific events (i.e Spring Cleanup). Sign-up Genius will be used to RSVP but will can NOT be used to verify hours. The following is required to document hours:
- In-person sign-in
- Date with Start and End time
- Type of activity or event
In general: Season begins in May at Spring Cleanup and ends typically Labor Day
Volunteer Hours can also be earned doing pre-approved activities such as:
- Pool opening or closing,
- Upkeep and/or maintenance through the season
- Spring Cleanup for opening (e.g., cleaning pools, cleaning furniture, powerwashing, mowing, weeding, gardening, painting, adding sand and/or mulch)
- Running special events through season (events will need approval by Board only)
Pool manager and/or Board Member may approve hours earned but again this has to be documented via the required sign-in procedure.
Swim and Dive events do NOT qualify for volunteer hours.
