Volunteer Jobs
Parent volunteers make it all possible!
We cannot run this swim team without our parents! Everything we do, from setting up to running meets to planning parties, is completely driven by volunteer power. That’s why we require a parent from each swimmer family to volunteer for at least TWO meets and/or to take on a coordinator role. Moms and Dads are welcome to help out. We love to see grandparents, too! The more volunteers we have, the smoother our season will run. Thanks so much for your help!
REMINDER: Most swim meet volunteers need to arrive at the Aquatic Center before warm-ups start. The volunteer times are defined in the event sign-up page. Read the position descriptions below. If you’re not sure where to go, the SRL team and coaches meet and sit in the bleachers in front of the Aquatic Center offices. Look for our awesome SRL shirts—and don’t forget to wear yours! Someone will help you find your spot.
IMPORTANT: If you cannot make your volunteer assignment, please find an alternate or contact the program director (contact information can be found on the coaches and board member page). Remember, parents are asked to volunteer at two meets or pay an additional $50 fee. Thanks for your continued support! Our volunteers help drive our success!
Volunteer Position Descriptions

| Clerk of Course | Clerk of Course's consists of collecting, organizing and delivering the swimmers to the start in the appropriate heat and lane | SRL Coaches |
| Timers | This is a new volunteer position for the 2023 season. We had many issues with the timers last year (NTN middle school swimmers). Although we will be using the timing touchpads in each swim lane during the meets, we will need 5 timers for each meet to manually record the times as backup to the touchpads Training will be provided. | Parents |
| Event Writers | Event Writers help at the beginning of warm-ups. They are “tattoo artists.” Each swimmer gets marked on his or her arms with the following information for each stroke/relay they are swimming: “name, event #, heat #, lane #”. Please meet at the SRL benches, and bring a Sharpie and a heat sheet (available at downstairs check-in desk) | SRL Coaches |
| Runners | This position helps swimmers get ready for their events. Gathering all the swimmers for each event and taking them from our seating area to the Ready Area located on deck. | Parents |
| Ready Bench | This position helps swimmers get ready for their events. You will keep track of all girls or boys for the particular age group you signed up for, gathering all the swimmers for each event and taking them from our seating area upstairs, down to the Ready Area located on deck. | SRL Coaches |
| Awards | This position will assist in the preparation of ribbons for qualifying swimmers | Parents |
| Practice Monitor | This position helps at practice by monitoring the pool during the assigned time. You will sit at the pool edge and monitor to help us keep a safe practice environment. This is not meant to subsitute for parental supervision, rather simply enhance safety. Your shift will be one practice time during the day, for the 4 days of practice that week. Please see the head coach at start of practice for your assigned seat. | Parents |
