Divisional Championship Meet Entry Policy
Background
- The last meet of the summer season is the Divisional Championship meet. The purpose of this meet is to allow the top swimmers within each division to compete against one another to determine individual swimmer rankings within the division. There are no qualifying times. Typically each team enters their fastest swimmers within each age group for each event to compete in the Divisional Championship meet.
Central Maryland Swim League (CMSL) rules state the following:
- Divisions 1 through 3: Swimmers may be entered in no more than 3 events, including relays (2 individual and alirelay, or 3 individual total). Each team can enter only 1 relay team to compete in each relay event.
- Division 4 through 10+: Swimmers may be entered into 3 individual events plus a relay. Each team can enter only 1 relay team to compete in each relay event.
- All Divisions: Each club may enter three swimmers in each event unless the host club has an 8 lane pool, in which case each team may enter 4 swimmers in each event (Host team decision).
- To be eligible for the Divisional meet, it is CMSL policy that swimmers must have participated in 2 regular season dual meets. Waverly Woods Swim Team also encourages its swimmers to attend a minimum of 8 practices over the course of the summer season.
