2023 14&U SCS Age Group Championships

14&Under SCS Spring Age Group Champs

March 16-19

The 2023 edition of Southern California Swimming’s premier Age Group Championships made its return to the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center this year and the meet proved to be very successful. We are so proud of the 43 Rose Bowl athletes who represented us at the meet! There were many notable performances, highlighted by personal bests. More importantly, we stepped up as a team and got behind each other for every race and relay in a very fun and enjoyable way. It was a very competitive meet and all of our athletes represented Rose Bowl Aquatics very well! The best part of the meet may have very well been seeing the entire team of athletes and coaches smiling and laughing throughout the meet. The team dynamic on deck was positive and it really showed in the way we went about interacting with our teammates. Way to go!

As we reflect on the last few seasons, it is incredibly important to remember that we have come a very long way in the last couple of years. For example, last year we only had one 10&U athlete compete in an individual event. This year, we had almost 10 athletes! We are definitely trending in the right direction and our foundation is continuing to grow and show its strength and tremendous potential. Another fun fact, the last time this meet was held in its fullest capacity was four years ago in 2019. Many of our athletes competing in this meet were not even competing in USA Swimming at that time. Again, we are building our foundation and the future does look very bright!

Hosting this premier event also required many bodies to make sure everything flowed smoothly. This meet would not have been possible without our Rose Bowl families. A simple ‘thank you’ does not come close to the level of appreciation that is felt by all. Thank you to everyone who stepped in at the last minute and volunteered where needed. We wore many hats over the weekend to show that Rose Bowl Aquatics was well represented and that we are capable of hosting a well-run Championship event. Thank you to our Boosters for supporting the meet and making sure we were set up with everything we needed.

Congratulations to Rose Bowl Aquatics on finishing out a very successful 2023 Spring Championship Season!

Rose Bowl on 3, Family on 6!
