Because drowning is a leading cause of death among children and Idaho has the second highest drowning rate in the country, we would like to encourage children of all ages to learn to be water safe.  Once a child learns to be comfortable in the water and has learned the basics of the four competitive strokes, the next natural progression for water lovers, ages 6 to 18+, is to join the Sawtooth Aquatic Club.

Sawtooth Aquatic Club (SAW) strives to develop each swimmer to their greatest individual potential.  We believe the positive experience of swimming on a team trains the entire person: mind, body, and life skills. At SAW, we aim to instill an understanding and appreciation for goal setting and achievement, self-motivation, team spirit, camaraderie, cooperation, time management and mental and physical toughness.

If your swimmer is not yet comfortable in the water or if you feel your swimmer needs help with competitive strokes before joining our team, Sawtooth Aquatic Club highly recommends Les Bois Swim Academy for water safety and swimming lessons.  Les Bois offers classes for babies, for children ages 2-17, and for adults, ages 18 and over.  Depending on the class level, participants will not only learn how to stay safe in the water, but also learn breathing techniques, how to swim the four competitive strokes, how to execute a flip turn, and how to perform racing dives.  Click on the logo below to learn more about Les Bois Swim Academy lessons.
