The Southern California Swimming Club Championships took place last weekend at East LA College hosted by the Rose Bowl Aquatic Club. To qualify you had to have one of the top 32 fastest times in your age group over the last year compared to other Southern California Swimmers. 7 Piranhas qualified for the meet that was overall a great success for the Piranha Swimmers. Piranha Members, Over the last 13 months total membership of the Piranhas has gone up each month and we've now doubled in size. When Alicia and I arrived our plan was to improve the overall quality and constancy of the program before focusing on growth. UPDATE: Congratulation to Liam, Tonalli, Noah, and Brody for setting a new 8 and under 100 freestyle relay record, breaking the previous best that was almost 40 years old. The Piranha Swim Team hosted the Eastern Committee Red Max Festival this past weekend in Palm Springs. The meet is new to the Committee schedule and was intended to give Red Swimmers a season ending meet that had greater importance. The Desert Classic Short Course Yards Meet, a US Masters sanctioned event, will be held Sunday January 12th in Palm Springs, CA.
