Overall, SMRT finished 3rd place. Hannah Craig took high point for the 13-14 girls age group. Kelsey Kraft was runner up for the 10 and under girls age group. Five swimmers from SMRT made the SC Zones Team (Logan Kraft, Hannah Craig, Ashleigh Bennett, Sara Stansell, Rachel Vandermeyden). Zone Championships feature top regional swimmers at the Senior and Age Group levels who qualify for these meets within the four designated Zones: Eastern, Central, Southern, and Western. This year, SMRT has 5 swimmers who were chosen to represent the Southern Zone in Cary, NC. This week, during Spirit Week, SMRT Swimmers tye-dyed pillowcases for fun, but also raised or donated $185 for ConKerr Cancer, the pillowcase project. This organization asks volunteers to create fun, bright, and cheerful pillowcases to replace the stark white ones usually located in hospitals where children are staying for treatment, usually of serious or terminal illnesses. ConKerr Cancer helps children "feel special while battling life changing illnesses".
