The following groups are offered at this location:

Group NAVY 1:  (10 & under novice)

Swimmers will develop the four strokes, legal by USA Swimming standards. In addition, swimmers will learn how to do legal freestyle flip turns, legal finishes or turns for breaststroke and butterfly and will learn to be “start legal” for swim meet participation. Once a swimmer has learned these skills and is 9 or 10 years of age, the swimmer can move on to Orange 1. Swimmers that are 8 and under and achieve 3 blue time standards, may also move up to Orange 1.

Coach Ian 4:00 to 5:00 pm Monday -Thursday - 4 practices per week

Duration: 60 minutes - Monthly Dues: $185.00 | Registration: $225.00

*There is an additional monthly fee of $25 for families that swim at Nellie Gail that are non-residents. This fee goes directly to the Nellie Gail HOA. 

 

Group NAVY 2:  (11 & over novice)

Swimmers will develop the four strokes, legal by USA Swimming standards. Once a swimmer has learned these skills, the swimmer can be considered for Navy 3, Orange 2 or Orange 3 based on skill level and time standards achieved.

Group NAVY 3:   (11-18-year-old)  

Swimmers in Navy 3 consist of middle school and high school aged athletes that are preparing to participate on their high school swim team. Swimmers will work on endurance, stroke technique, and mastering starts, turns, and finishes.  

Swimmers in Navy 3 are encouraged to participate in swim meets to assess progress in conditioning and to gain valuable swim meet experience that will prepare them for the high school swim season.  

 

YEAR-ROUND REQUIREMENTS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS GROUP: Swimmers are encouraged to attend Navy 3 practice at least 3x per week in order to achieve maximum results.  

Coach Ian 5:00-7:00 pm Monday-Thursday and 4:00-6:00 on Friday - 5 practices per week

Group ORANGE 1: 

(8–10-year-old swimmers)  

Swimmers in Orange 1 must be proficient at streamlines, starts, turns, and finishes in the four major swim strokes. The Orange 1 group will prepare swimmers to achieve Southern California Swimming time standards for the 10 and under age group, progressing from National B time standards up to Spring Junior Olympic time standards.  

Swimmers in Orange 1 are encouraged to participate in swim meets to assess progress in conditioning and to gain valuable swim meet experience. 

 

 

Coach Ian 4:30 to 6:00pm Monday - Thursday and 8:00am to 10:00am Saturday at (Nellie Gail)

Group ORANGE 2:  

(9-12-year-old swimmers)  

Swimmers in Orange 2 must be proficient at streamlines, starts, turns, and finishes in the four major swim strokes. The Orange 2 group will develop an endurance base that will prepare swimmers to swim longer events and will work on the Individual Medley to promote improvement in the four major swim strokes. The objective in Orange 2 is for swimmers to achieve Junior Olympic time standards in the 11-12 age group in 3 different strokes, including the Individual Medley events.  

Swimmers in Orange 2 are required to participate in swim meets to assess progress in conditioning and to gain valuable swim meet experience. 

 

YEAR-ROUND REQUIREMENTS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS GROUP: Swimmers should have WAG or JAG time standards and will work to achieve SCS Spring Champs time standards.  

 

Coach Ian 4:30 to 6:30pm Monday - Thursday and 8:00am to 10:00am Saturday at (Nellie Gail)
