Rocket City Swim League Championship For the second year in a row, the Sherwood Sharks moved up two spots from the previous year’s standings, finishing 1st among C-League teams for the regular season and 1st among C-League teams at the RCSL City Championship Meet. The Sharks were fast in the water with strong relays, and we had several outstanding individual swims that qualified for A and B Finals! Congratulations to all of our MSA athletes who competed with Sherwood and other RCSL Teams!
2023 ARPA District 2 Championship Madison Dolphins traveled to Scottsboro, AL for the 2023 District 2 Championship. There were 9 teams with over 650 athletes! Dolphins had an outstanding meet, especially on Day 2 picking up an absurd amount of unexpected State Qualifying Times! Madison Dolphins finished off the meet with a stunning 1st-2nd-3rd Place finish in the Girls 15-18 200 Yard Freestyle Relay. Congratulations to Larissa Dowling, as she recently signed to swim for the Berry College Vikings! The campus of Berry College is picturesquely located on the northern outskirts of Rome, Georgia. Larissa signed her scholarship papers in a special all-school ceremony at her high school (Westminster Christian Academy) on May 10, 2023. We had an absolutely amazing meet this past weekend! This was our last major meet before we start sneaking into Championship Season with District, State, Southeastern Championships, and Zones right around the corner. This was a first long course meet for so many of our young up-and-comers including Maddox, Haley, Ashlee, Haylee, Rowan, Audrey, Michaela, Ceilidh, Emily, and Evan! Madison Dolphins traveled to Scottsboro on June 20, 2023. This is the pool and team who will be hosting the District Championship Meet in just a few weeks. Our athletes blew it out of the water, including 25+ new ARPA State Qualifying Times, 20+ sweeps on events, and countless laughs in the rain! Madison won the dual meet with a final score of 518-114. Madison Dolphins hosted Madison Medal Meet for 20+ years running! It was once again a great success with so many excited athletes, helpful parents, and cheerful teammates! "Save the Date" for Joe Wheeler Play-Day Hello MSA Long Course Swimmers! Our annual Joe Wheeler Play-Day is scheduled for Monday, June 26! We've normally chosen a Monday or Tuesday about 10 days prior to Southeasterns, but the Southeastern Meet is one week earlier than usual this year. This would put our "Play-Day" on July 3 or 4, when several of our families are out of town and the campground is very crowded. A huge congratulations to Peter Wren, an 11 year old diver from Madison Swimming Association who traveled to Birmingham for the Alabama State Games. Peter scored a 137.90 on the 3-meter and a 129.25 on the 1-meter. With these scores, he earned two gold medals! Madison 584 - Athens 139 Madison Dolphins hosted Athens in an ARPA swim meet on Thursday (6/8/23). Madison 535 - Boaz 195 Madison Dolphins traveled to Boaz tonight for a Dual Meet with the Boaz Barracudas for our second dual meet of the season. Though Boaz had some fierce competitors, Dolphins managed to pull ahead finishing with a winning score of 535 points to Boaz’s 195 points.
