When do you practice?
Where do you practice?
-
Navy Dive School Pool
Do I have to be a good swimmer to join the team?
-
Swimmers need to swim one length (25 yards) freestyle and one length backstroke (25 yards). We will teach you the rest.
Do I have to try-out?
-
New swimmers are invited to a free introductory week of swimming. The introductory week is four consecutive practices. During this trial week you will have the opportunity to swim with the team and meet the coaches. This is an opportunity for you to see if we are a good match for you and your family.
What do I need to bring?
-
Please bring goggles, towel, and an appropriate swim suit (girls wear a one piece and boys wear shorts with a draw string).
How often do I need to come to practice?
-
We recommend a minimum of three practice days a week.
How often do we have swim meets?
-
Generally, we participate in one meet per month. These swim meets are a critical part of the swim team experience. We ask families and swimmers to commit to swimming in all swim meets (when the swimmer is ready)
Can I join any time?
-
We are a year round swim club. We take swimmers throughout the year. We have three swim sessions (fall, winter, and spring) and registration is due on Sept. 1, Jan. 1, and May 1. If you join in the middle of a session, the fees will be pro-rated to reflect your time for that session.
How much does it cost?
-
The cost of swimming varies depending on the swim group and status as active duty military, retired, DoD, or non-affiliated. Please e-mail us at [email protected] for questions.
-
In addition to the cost for each session, each swimmer is required to have a current USA Swimming Registration. The yearly fee is $70.
-
The cost to swim in meets depends on the number of events you plan to swim. Generally, swim meets cost ~$15-$20 per day. Travel, food, and lodging are extra.
-
Team gear (suits, fins, kick board, and team t-shirt) varies depending on the type of gear you choose to purchase
