Swimmers impress on day two of Commonwealth Games
Cayman swimmers finished day two at the 2022 Commonwealth Games with a couple of personal best times inside the Sandwell Aquatics Centre in Birmingham, England.
James Allison outperformed seven other competitors in his 200 metre freestyle, ending his heat over a second faster than the second place finisher. Allison, 16, clocked in at 1:54.14, which was a new personal best.
“I saw the crowd when I was walking out and I just had so much adrenaline running through,” Allison said after his race. “It’s all a learning experience and I’ll defiantly make sure that I’ll be better next time.”
Teammate Sierrah Broadbelt also won her heat in convincing fashion, recording a new personal best time of 28.13 in the 50m free.
