Hilton and Bailey equally take first at Flowers Sea Swim
Jake Bailey and Dominic Hilton both finished in 20:45 to tie as the overall winners in the 30th annual Flowers Sea Swim.
They finished ahead of Harper Barrowman who was the first female swimmer, placing third overall, in a time of 20:46.
For Bailey, 19, the win marks the third consecutive year that he has claimed gold at the Flowers event. But this is the first year he has shared the top podium position.
“It was a very close race to the end,” Bailey told the Cayman Compass.
“I’m very impressed by how the other two swimmers did: Harper Barrowman and Dominic Hilton. I’m very impressed with their fortitude,” he said.
