2023-24 REGISTRATION INFORMATION
FOR NEW MEMBERS
Our team is for swimmers ages 6 and over who are looking for a competitive team experience. All swimmers must tryout in order to be placed in the correct practice group. During tryouts, coaches will evaluate if your swimmer can handle the regular practice workouts for his/her age group and ability level. Swimmers should be able to successfully complete a 100 free, 50 backstroke, and know the basics of the butterfly and breaststroke. Timed swims will be the basis for placement in practice groups beyond entry level.
Tryouts last approximately 10 minutes and are designed specifically to make sure your swimmer is placed in the correct practice group for their skill level.

What Happens After Your Tryout?
Once you are told your swimmer has been placed on the team, please complete our on-line registration process within 10 days of your swimmer starting practices. The registraton button is on the Home Page of the website underneath the pictures. If we do not receive your fees within the 10 days, your swimmer will not be allowed to continue practicing with the team. Please remember your registration is not complete until your fees are paid and parents complete the Parent Responsibility Agreement.
All swimmers must have a Y membership. Please go to the front desk of your Y to arrange and pay for your swimmer's membership. Be sure to specify your swimmer is joining the Boise YMCA Swim Team which requires a minimum of a Youth Membership.

Swimmers who qualify for Financial Assistance (see qualifing documents on application) must provide proof of assistance as well as complete the 2024 USA Swimming Athlete Outreach Information.
Swimmers who wish to participate in swim meets as members of the Boise YMCA Swim Team must be USA Swimming and Team Registered before the entry deadline of the meet. This means the registration fees must be paid and Proof of Age must be received by the Team Registrar before the entry deadline, typically 10 days before the first day of the meet.
Transfers from Another USA Swimming Club: Swimmers transferring from one USA Swimming team to another must also complete the following Transfer Form. It is not necessary to include the USA Swimming Form if you are currently registered with USA Swimming.
