The Launch Pad Squad serves as the entry level to our program for swimmers 11-14 years old. 

Attendance: Recommend 4-5 times each week.

Training Offered: 5x week for 60 minutes (15 min land / 45 min water)  

Swim Meets: Home meets are required, there are optional local and regional meets that are encouraged, but not required. Competitive experiences will also be introduced during normal training times. Practice and intrasquad meets are not a substitute for competitions. 

Goals of the Launch Pad Squad

·       Develop consistent attendance habits 

·       Push-off and streamline to flags with a dolphin kick

·       Develop legal strokes and turns for all 4 competitive swimming strokes

o   Swim 100 freestyle, Backstroke, IM with correct turns

o   Swim 50 butterfly and breaststroke with correct turn

·       Perform track start and backstroke start 

·       Acquire basic understanding of the pace clock

 

Attendance: Recommend 6 times each week

Training Offered: 6x week for 120 minutes (15-45 min land / 75-105 min water)

Swim Meets: Expected for local meets one full weekend per month plus all team championship meets in February, March, & July. 

Goals of the Challenge Squad

·       Develop consistent practice attendance prior to moving to next level

·       Complete USA-S IM Ready program in competition

·       Compete in both the 200 IM & 500 Freestyle

·       Athletes know their attitude & effort affects how they swim and how others around them swim

·       Perform all turns and push-offs efficiently

·       Perform track start and backstroke start effectively

·       Athlete is motivated to listen to coaches and try to improve

·       Courteous to other swimmers in pool

·       Qualify for STX, STAGS

  

Attendance: Required 6 sessions each week

Training: 6x week for 2 hours (15-45 min land / 75-90 min water)

Swim Meets: Expected one full weekend competition per month plus all team championship meets in February, March, & July

Goals of the Apex Squad

·       Complete USA Swimming IMX challenge

·       Prepare for Senior level squads by increasing training commitment & consistency

·       Create good body positions in all four competitive strokes

·       Reduce swimmer's drag and increase efficiency

·       Increase fluidity during turns

·       Mastery of pace clock during workout

·       Swimmer is courteous to other swimmers in the group

·       Create great practice habits by showing up to workout early and ready to learn

·       Continue to learn goal setting

·       Qualify for STAGS & TAGS
