Pricing and Payment Policy

 

Annual Registration

There are two annual registration fees. The COTA annual registration fee of $150 per athlete is charged upon registration and is renewed each August.

Separately, USA Swimming has an annual membership registration of $88 which renews each January. It is required for all swimmers regardless of participation in swim meets and is paid directly through the USA Swimming website. We are a USA Swimming team, and swimmers not registered with USA Swimming may NOT enter the pool.

 

Annual Pricing Policy (9 month cycle)

The COTA registration window begins with the school year, and COTA dues are billed on a 9-month cycle (September-May) for members who join by September 30th. The summer months of June, July and August are free for these members if they are enrolled continuously. Members that join in October can get July and August for free, and members that join in November can get August free. Members joining from December though May pay dues through the summer months.

 Juniors 1: $180 per month (summer months free when continuously enrolled by Sept 30th)

 Juniors 2: $210 per month (summer months free when continuously enrolled by Sept 30th)

Meet Fees

There are additional fees associated with entering a meet. 

In order to facilitate the entry process, COTA pays the entry fees for the team and then bills each athlete for their entries. Meet fees are invoiced upon acceptance into the meet and included in the following month's billing along with monthly dues.

COTA assesses a per athlete charge to cover the individual and team meet fees, administrative costs, coach travel and parking, and any additional costs associated with meet attendance. Fees will be communicated on the sign up page of each meet.

Regular Season Meets: $15 per swimmer surcharge in addition to any splash fee charged by the host team and $15 for each event.

Travel Meet - Regular Season: Minimum $50 per swimmer surcharge in addition to any splash fee charged by the host team and $15 for each event.

Travel Meet - Championship Meet: Minimum $50 per swimmer surcharge in addition to any splash fee charged by the host team and $15 for each event.

All individual travel expenses will be paid by the swimmers family.

 

Account Suspension Policy

Swimmers are encouraged to continue swimming throughout the season without suspending their accounts. Attending year round is helpful for swimmers to progress throughout the season and is required to be eligible for the free summer months. If a swimmer does need to go on break from the team, you must email [email protected] by the 20th of the month BEFORE you would like to suspend your account. You may return to the team during that season if your practice group still has space available, but you will not be eligible for free summer months. In addition, you may be asked to pay the registration fee of $150 to rejoin the team. Multiple suspension requests may require withdrawal from the team.

 

Payment Policy

COTA accepts both credit cards and ACH payment (direct debit from a bank account). Note that there is a 2.95% convenience fee on all credit card transactions. To avoid this fee, members are encouraged to pay directly from their bank account by setting up ACH (direct debit) processing once registered.

Automatic billing for monthly fees (including any meet fees if applicable) processes on the first of each month.   

A late fee of $20 will be assessed for payments that do not go through. Swimmers with delinquent fees who have not paid by the 20th of the month will not be allowed to swim until all fees (including late fees) are paid.
