Capital of Texas Aquatics offers training and practice groups for swimmers to improve their swimming. It is the goal of COTA to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of their abilities.

Our mission is to provide a safe, healthy and positive environment for swimmers of all ages and ability to become the swimmer they aspire to be. Our vision is to create an inclusive community of confident, hardworking, and committed swimmers that respect and support each other, their coaches, and their team.

Age Group A

Monday and Wednesday for ages 6-10. Two days a week. Learn basic strokes, technique, turns, fundamentals. Max 20 swimmers per group. This is NOT a learn to swim group. Swimmers must know how to swim freestyle with side breathing and backstroke for 25 yards without stopping and have some ability to swim breaststroke and butterfly.

 

Age Group B

Tuesday and Thursday for ages 6-10. Two days a week. Learn basic strokes, technique, turns, fundamentals. Max 20 swimmers per group. This is NOT a learn to swim group. Swimmers must know how to swim freestyle with side breathing and backstroke for 25 yards without stopping and have some ability to swim breaststroke and butterfly.

 

Juniors 1

Monday through Friday, ages 8-12. Designed for swimmers that have mastered the basics and are ready for a more traditionally structured swim team practice. Ideal for those swimmers that enjoy practice but do not want to attend a lot of swim meets. Swimmers can come between 1-5 days a week depending on their schedule and preference.

 

Juniors 2

Monday through Saturday, ages 8-12. Designed for junior-aged swimmers that are ready to focus on competition and performance. These swimmers must attend at least three practices a week and attend meets throughout the season. These swimmers should be striving for BB times or greater (top 35% of swimmers in their age group nationally) in each stroke. Requires coach approval.

 

Seniors

Monday through Saturday, ages 13-18. Swimming and dryland exercises. Focus on endurance, technique and training to prepare swimmers to be competitive during short and long course seasons as well as participation on high school teams. These swimmers must attend at least three practices a week and attend meets throughout the season. These swimmers should be striving for BB times or greater (top 35% of swimmers in their age group nationally) in each stroke. 

 

Masters Swimming

Monday-Saturday for ages 18 and up. Masters swimming is organized adult swimming. It is not a learn to swim group, but is targeted towards fitness, technique instruction and interval training as a group. Camaraderie and new friends are two of the best benefits of swimming regularly with a group.
