BOGATA, COLOMBIA--The South American Swimming Confederation, Confederación Sudamericana de Natación (CONSANAT), received word in mid-April that the 2014 South American Games would not be allowed to double as the 2014 South American Swimming Championships, as past editions of the Games have done. As such, the 2014 South American Swimming Championships will be held in Mar del Plata, Argentina; while the 2014 South American Games will be held in Santiago, Chile. Presumably, this decision will mean two major aquatics competitions for South America in 2014.
