Emory Community Private Lessons
Private swimming lessons are offered year-round by Emory Varsity Swimming and Diving Team members. Private and Semi-Private lessons are available for all ages. The Private/Semi-Private lesson options and package sizes are laid out below. Upon registration, your package will be released to all our lesson instructors. When an instructor claims your lessons they will contact you directly to coordinate days and times for the lessons. Please disregard the time listed on the registration page - lesson times are coordinated individually with your instructor
Lesson Types & Pricing
-
Private Lessons: 30 minutes, $35 per lesson. Packages: 5 for $175, 10 for $350
-
Semi-Private Lessons: 30 minutes, $60 per lesson ($30 per swimmer). Packages: 5 for $300, 10 for $600
- You only need to register once for semi-private lessons (sign up one child and note the second under Medical Info/Notes)
- Our experience is that semi-private lessons work best when both kids are similar ages/ability levels. We can't work with groups larger than 2 swimmers in this program.
-
Annual Registration Fee: $25 per family

Additional Information / Answers to FAQs
- Instructor Availability: Most instructors are Emory Varsity swimmers. Availability may vary during academic transitions and breaks
-
COVID Policy: Participants under 18 must be vaccinated or provide a negative test within 48 hours of campus access
-
You don’t need to be a member to participate in our programs at the indoor Woodruff PE Center or the outdoor SAAC facility. Non-members may only access the pool during their scheduled lesson time
-
All lessons must take place during open swim hours when a lifeguard is on duty. Instructors are not permitted to teach during other scheduled programming (such as Eagle Swim Team practices)
-
This is a very popular program, and placements can take time—especially during peak periods. If you don’t hear from anyone within a week, feel free to email John ([email protected]) for an update
-
Most of our instructors are Emory Varsity swimmers, so things slow down during finals and academic breaks (late April, early May, late August, and mid-December to mid-January). It may take longer than a week to match during those times.
-
If we can’t match you in a reasonable time, we’ll refund your payment—no problem
