The qualifications to join our minnow team are as follows:

⁃ Be able to swim freestyle breathing to the side, not holding breath 

- Be able to swim backstroke with feet up kicking

- Legal breaststroke kick and mechanics of arms. Kick is more important here. 

- Legal butterfly kick and arms coming out of water if able. Fins on works too. Even if it’s 4 kicks/1 stroke. 

⁃ Be able to swim a 25-yard of free, back, breast unassisted, and 25-yard fly kick or kick and arms with fins.

Expectations at evaluations/tryouts:

You will be asked to swim 25 yards of each stroke. Dives and flip turns are optional, not required.

If your swimmer makes the team, there is a $75 registration fee that includes a Marlins t-shirt, cap and bag. Monthly dues for each group can be found on the website under 'Dues Information'.

Keep in mind that we are a competitive swim team.  We don’t provide swim lessons.  To join our team you will need to be proficient in all four strokes.
