CST Harvest Open

Hello Golds Aquatics Club families. We hope everyone is staying dry and enjoying the fall weather! On October 22nd and 23rd, our GAC swimmers made a big splash at the CST Harvest Open at the beautiful Chehalem Aquatic Center in Newberg, Oregon. Our swimmers did a great job exemplifying what it means to race well and have fun! A total of 29 swimmers represented GAC at the Harvest Open. These 29 swimmers swam 152 times, and 113 of those swims were best times. This is an impressive 75% improvement rate for our team. We had outstanding swim performances from several of our swimmers, including 6 new club records by Katherine Zhang. Not only did our swimmers place well individually, but we also placed well as a team. Our male swimmers brought home second place, and our female swimmers brought home third place. Way to go, swimmers; we are so proud of you! We also want to say a warm thank you to all parents who volunteered and helped make this a successful and fun meet. 

SPECIAL RECOGNTIION TO FOLLOW:

Hudson Barros – Swam 3 events, all of which were best times, including a 6th place in the 50 Butterfly.

Henry Butler- Swam 3 individual events, 1 relay, got a best time in the 50 Breaststroke, and first place in his relay.

Alora Cook- Swam 6 individual events, 2 relays, achieved best times in all 8 events, including a second place in the 200 Medley Relay.

Lily Grabenkort- Swam 3 events and dropped an impressive 21 seconds in the 100 IM.

Haylee Hardin – Swam 4 individual events, 1 relay, earned 3 best times, including 3rd place in the 200 Medley Relay.

Jamie Harris- Swam 6 events with 4 best times, including a 5th place in the 100 Butterfly.

Paige Harvey- Swam 2 events, including a 3rd place in the 25 Freestyle.

Owen Jacobs- Swam 6 individual events, 2 relays, and achieved best times in all 8 events, including 1st place in the 200 Medley Relay.

Faith Knoeppel- Swam 6 individual events, 2 relays, and achieved best times in all 8 events, including 2nd place in the 50 Breaststroke.

Aarnav Krishna- Swam 6 individual events, 2 relays, and achieved best times in all 8 events. Aarnav also placed 1st in two events - the 50 Butterfly and 50 Backstroke.

Agastya Krishna- Swam 6 individual events, 2 relays, and achieved best times in 7 of his events. Agastya also dropped 8 seconds in the 100 IM.

Ethan LeGrand- Swam 6 individual events, 2 relays, and achieved best times in all 8 events. Ethan also placed 1st place in the 200 Medley Relay.

Sam LeGrand- Swam 6 individual events, 2 relays, swam in a new event, achieved 6 best times, placed 3rd in both the 50 Backstroke and 50 Butterfly.

Lawrence Lee- Swam 3 individual events, 1 relay, and achieved best times in all 4 best events. Lawrence also placed 3rd in the 200 Medley Relay.

Luna McMahon- Swam 3 individual events, 1 relay, achieved 3 best times, and placed 2nd in the 200 Medley Relay.

Andrew Morris- Swam 6 events and achieved best times in all events. Andrew also dropped an outstanding 1 minute and 37 seconds in the 200 Freestyle.

Caroline Oates- Swam 6 individual events, 2 relays, achieved 7 best times, and placed 3rd in both relays.

Travis Oates- Swam 6 events, achieved 5 best times, and dropped an incredible 11 seconds in the 50 Butterfly.

Kai Raimo- Swam 6 individual events, 2 relays, achieved 6 best times, and dropped an impressive 8 seconds in his 100 Freestyle, resulting in a 4th place win.

Atali’I Seumalo- Swam 6 individual events, 2 relays, achieved 5 best times, placed 3rd in two events, and won 2nd in the 100 Freestyle. 

Andrew Song- Swam in his very first meet! Andrew exemplified great courage and determination and placed 9th in the 100 IM.

Owen Yam- Swam 5 events, achieved 4 best times, and placed 3rd place in the 100 Breaststroke.

Kevin Yuan- Swam 6 individual events, 2 relays, achieved best times in all 8 events, and placed 4th in the 200 Medley Relay.

Andrew Zhang- Swam 6 events, 4 first time, achieving 2 best times and 1st place in the 25 Breaststroke.

Brian Zhang- Swam 6 individual events, 2 relays, had 2 first-time swims, achieved 6 best times, and placed 3rd in the Medley Relay.

Eric Zhang- Swam 6 individual events, 2 relays, achieved 5 best times, and dropped an outstanding 7 seconds in the 100 IM.

Katherine Zhang- Swam 6 individual events, 2 relays, earned 6 new club records, and achieved 6 first places.

Winston Zhang- Swam6 individual events, 2 relays, achieved 4 best times, and earned 7 first places.

Henry Zhu- Swam 6 individual events, 1 relay, achieved 6 best times, had a 1 first-time swim, and placed 2nd in the 50 Breaststroke.
