2023 Corvallis Short Course Open

Westley Mejias

The 2023 CAT Short Course Open

What a great meet! Our team finished in 5th place out of 21 teams. Twenty-one of our swimmers' made a big splash by racing in 105 events. 63 of those events resulted in best times for a 60% improvement rate. I received compliments from two different coaches about how great our swimmers are looking at meets. Our parents led by example as they volunteered as timers and officials, which was a huge help to the meet directors. We are proud to have such amazing parents! We also want to congratulate Katherine Zhang, who broke the Oregon swimming record for the girls 9-10 age-group in the 200 Individual medleys with a time of 2:22.59. The previous record was set by Karen Turner from LOSC back in 2005.
