2023 LOSC Winter Challenge Open
Our last swim meet in January was the LOSC Winter Challenge. Our GACC swimmers competed against nine other teams and did a fantastic job. We had 42 swimmers compete in 191 events, 126 of those events resulted in best times for a 66% improvement rate for our team. Thank you to our parents who support our swimmers in the stand and support us in the meet by timing and reporting as officials - We appreciate you! Good Job GACC Swimmers!
Hudson Barros- Swam 3 individual events getting best times in all of them including a impressive 11 seconds dropped in the 100 butterfly.
Abigail Brunell- Swam the 50 Breaststroke for the first time and also swam the breaststroke leg in the medley relay.
Henry Butler- Swam 6 events got best time in all of them, dropped 15 seconds in the 100 breaststroke and got a 4th place in the 50 backstroke and swam 2 relays.
Alora Cook- Swam 6 individual events and got best times in 4 of them being the 100 free the biggest drop with 3.44 seconds of improvement, she also swam 2 relays.
Lily Grabenkort- Swam 3 individual events got best times in all of her events including 6 seconds.
Lainey Hajek- Swam 2 individual events achieving best time in both including a 3 second improvement in the 100 backstroke and also swam the medley relay.
Haylee Hardin- Swam 6 individual events achieving best times in 4 of them and also got two 4th places in the relays.
Paige Harvey- Swam 3 individual events getting best times in all of them including a 14 second drop and she is now less than a second away from state time in the 50 backstroke.
Lee Huang- Swam in 2 individual events and achieved a best time in the 100 Breaststroke where he dropped 3 seconds. Go Lee!
Owen Jacobs- Swam in 5 individual events and 2 relays. Owen dropped 2 seconds in the 100 IM, achieved a best time in the 100 Breaststroke, and placed 3rd in 200 Medley relay.
Sophie Jacobs- Swam in 4 individual events and the 200 Medley relay. Sophie showed great determination and focus in each of her races.
Kyla Jun- Swam in 6 individual events and 2 relays. Kyla dropped 1 secon din the 50 Freestyle, 2 seconds in the 100 Backstroke, 3 seconds in the 100 Freestyle, achieved a best time in the 200 Backstroke, and dropped an astonishing 45 seconds in the 100 Breaststroke.
Ryker Jun- Swam in 4 individual event and 2 relays. Ryker achieved a best time in the 50 Freestyle, 100 Butterfly, 200 Individual Medley, 100 Freesyle, and in the 100 Backstroke where he got the stae time and dropped an atonishing 20 seconds. Ryker’s relay also took home 5th place in the 200 Free relay.
Faith Knoeppel- Swam in 6 individual events and 2 relays. Faith achieved best times in the 50 Backstroke, 100 Breaststroke, 100 Freestyle, and 200 Breaststroke. Faith took home firt place in the 50 Breaststroke and 4th place in the 200 Medley relay.
Frederick Kotynek- Swam in 6 individual events and 1 relay. Frederick achieved best times in th 50 Breaststroke, 50 Freestyle, and in the 200 Individual Medley where he dropped an outstanding 17 seconds.
Aarnav Krishna- Swam in 3 individual events and achieved best times in each of them. Aarnav also took home 6th place in the 100 Breaststroke; way to go Aarnav!
Agastya Krishna- Swam in 3 individual events and 2 relays. He achieved best times in the 100 Freestyle, 50 Butterfly, and 200 Freestyle relay. Both of Agastya’s relays took home 5th place; way to go!
Dash LeGrand- Swam in 4 individual events and achieved best times in the 25 Freestyle and in the 25 Backstroke. Dash showed great determination and effort in each of his races.
Ethan LeGrand- Swam in 6 individual events and 2 relays. Ethan achieved best times in the 50 Freestyle, the 100 Butterfly and in the 200 Individual Medley. Ethan dropped an impressive 9 seconds in the 200 IM and 8 seconds in the 100 Butterfly.
Sam LeGrand- Swam in 6 individual events and 2 relays. Sam achieved best times in the 50 Freestyle, where he dropped half a second, and in the 200 Freestyle relay where he dropped 2 seconds.
Lawrence Lee- Swam in 4 individual events and 1 relay. Lawrence had a great meet as he achieved best times in all of his events. Most notable was his 7 second drop in the 100 Backstroke and 6 second drop in the 100 Breaststroke. Go Lawrenece!
Amy Lewis- Swam in 3 individual events and 1 relay. Amy achieved a best time in the 100 Freestyle, a best time in the 100 Butterfly, and a 2 second best time in the 200 Freestyle relay which took home 4th place.
Lorena MaCarty- Swam in 5 individual events and in 2 relays. Lorena achieved best times in 6 events, most notable was her 6 second drop in the 100 Backstroke, 11 second drop in the 200 Backstroke, and 2 second frop in the 100 Freestyle. Lorena also took home 4th place in the 100 Backstroke and 4th in the 200 Free relay.
Luna McMahon- Swam in 5 individuals events with great effort and determination. Luna took home 3rd place in the 100 Breaststroke.
Andrew Morris- Swam in 5 individual events and in 2 relay. Andrew achieved best time in all 5 of his individual events and most notable was his amazing 11 second drop in the 200 Breaststroke and 2 secondr drop in the 100 Backstroke.
Caroline Oates- Swam in 6 individual events and achieved best times in each of them. Caroline dropped 1 secon din the 50 Freestyle, 4 seconds in the 100 Individual Medley, 4 second sin the 50 Backstroke, and 6 seconds in the 200 Individual Medley. Caroline took home 3rd placed in the 50 Breaststroke, 4th in the 50 Backstroke and 100 Breastroke, and 5th in the 100 IM.
Travis Oates- Swam in 6 individual events and 2 relays. Travis achieved best times in each of his individual events, most notable being his 19 second drop in the 100 Butterlfy, 7 second drop in the 200 Breaststroke, 6 second drop in the 100 Breaststroke, and 6 second drop in the 100 Backstroke.
Lucy Parker- Swam in 2 individual events and 1 relay. Lucy achieved best times in all three events dropping 23 seconds in the 200 Medley, 3 seconds in the 50 Freestyle, and 1 second in th 100 Backstroke.
Ananya Polavar- Swam in the 50 Breaststroke and 50 Backstroke. Ananya showed great effort in both of her races, resulting in a 3 second drop in her 50 Backstroke.
Kai Raimo- Swam in 6 individual events and 2 relays. Kai exemplified great determination as he achieved best times in 7 of his events. Kai took home 2nd place in 200 Freestyle relay and 100 Breaststroke, 3rd place in the 50 Breaststroke, 4th place in the 5 0 Butterfly, 50 Backstroke, 100 Individual Medley, and in his 200 Medley relay, and 5th place in the 50 Freestyle.
Daniel Ren- Swam in 6 individual events and 2 relays. Daniel achieved best time sin the 50 Freestyle, 100 Backstroke, and in the 200 Backstroke.
Isabel Ren- Swam in 6 individual events and 1 relay. Isabel achieved best times in the 200 Breaststroke, 200 Medley relay, 200 Freestyle relay, and in the 200 Individual Medley. Isabel took home 4th place in the 200 Free relay and 5th place in the 200 Individual Medley.
Atali’I Seumalo- Swam in 6 individual events and 2 relays. Atali’i acheieved best times in the 200 Butterfly and the 200 Individual Medley. He also took home 6th place in the 200 Butterfly.
Andrew Song- Swam in 6 individual events and 1 relay. Andrew ahceived best times in all 6 of his individual events and took home 2nd place in his 200 Freestyle relay. Andrew dropped an impressive 9 second sin the 100 Freestyle, 6 seconds in the 100 Backstroke, and 3 seconds in his 50 Backstroke.
Mason Strogen- Swam in 3 individual events and achieved best time sin the 100 Freestyle and 50 Backstroke. Mason dropped and impressive 11 seconds in the 100 Freestyle and half a second in the 50 Backstroke. Go Mason!
Devin Vokes- Swam in 5 individual events and 2 relays, achieving best times in all 5 of his individual event. Devon dropped an impressive 10 seconds in the 200 Breaststroke, 5 seconds in the 100 Breaststroke, 4 seconds in the 200 Individual Medley, and 2 seconds in the 100 Freestyle.
Owen Yam- Swam in 3 individual events and 1 relay, achieveing two best times. Owen dropped 1 second in the 200 Individual Medley and took hiome 2nd place, placed 3rd in the 100 Breaststroke, and 5th in the 200 Freestyle relay.
Andrew Zhang- Swam in 6 individual events and 1 relay. Andrew achieved best times in the 25 Freestyle, 50 Backstroke, 25 Backstroke, and 50 Breastroke. Andrew took home 4th in the 200 Medley relay, 5th in the 25 Backstroke and 50 Breaststroke.
Brian Zhang- Swam in 6 individual events and 2 relays. Brian achieved best times in 5 of his events and took home 2nd place in the 200 Freestyle relay.
Katherine Zhang- Swam in 6 individual events and 2 relays. Katherine achieved best times in the 200 Butterlfy, 400 Individual Medley, 200 Backstroke, and in the 200 Freestyle relay. Katherine took home 2nd in the 200 and 100 Butterfly, 3rd in the 400 IM, 4th in the 200 Medley relay, and 5th in the 200 Backstroke.
Winston Zhang- Swam in 6 individual events and 2 relays. Winston took home 1st place in the 50 Breaststroke, 3rd in the 200 Medley relay, and 5th in the 200 Freestyle relay. Go Winston!
