All swimmers should have some swim lesson or team experience (doesn’t have to be at SRC) before joining the SRC Team

Swimmer can…
-
Put their face in the water and blow bubbles
-
Let go of the wall, dunk their head, come back up and grab the wall again
-
Flutter kick holding onto the wall
-
Independently swim halfway down the pool without stopping or touching the bottom/lane line/wall
-
Comfortably attempt to float on back
-
Jump into the pool
8 and Under Requirements
Swimmer can…
-
Swim 25 yards without stopping
-
Swim with their face in the water doing freestyle
-
Swim/attempt to swim backstroke, breaststroke, and/or butterfly
-
Flutter kick with a kickboard on stomach and on back
-
Float on back independently without sinking
-
Jump/dive in the deep end off the side or the block
9-10 Requirements
Swimmer can…
-
Swim 50 yards without stopping
-
Swim freestyle (crawl stroke with side breathing)
-
Swim/attempt to swim backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly
-
Do 50 yards of flutter kick with a kickboard
-
Do/attempt to do dolphin kick and breaststroke kick with a kickboard
-
Kick on back in a streamline
-
Dive/attempt to dive off the side or the block
11 and Over Requirements (same for 13-14 and 15+ swimmers)
Swimmer can…
-
Swim 100 yards without stopping
-
Swim freestyle (crawl stroke with side breathing)
-
Swim backstroke, breaststroke, and/or butterfly legally
-
Do 50 yards of flutter kick with a kickboard
-
Do dolphin kick and breaststroke kick with a kickboard
-
Kick on back in a streamline
-
Dive/attempt to dive off the side or the block
