Welcome to April, Seals families! This month brings exciting transitions as we shift from short course (25-yard pool) to long course (50-meter pool) competition and prepare for the bubble to come down. Here’s everything you need to know about upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and team highlights.

COACH'S CORNER

Hello Seals,

April is a big month for us! The bubble comes down, we wrap up short course meets, and I celebrate my anniversary coaching the Seals—18 years completed and starting year 19. The current group of kids is one of the most fun I’ve coached so far.

We had a fantastic meet at the Kaholo Classic in March. Congratulations to all our swimmers, especially our first-time competitors: Kristian Greenidge, Declan Johannessen (youngest swimmer in the meet), Eloise Johannessen, Brooks Johnson, Iris Lee, and Ruby Lee. Special shoutout to swimmers with Top-5 finishes: Guillermo Dinares Cardenal (1st in 25 Breast), Duncan Kellogg (multiple backstroke finishes), Ruby Lee (3rd in 25 Back), and Gus McSheehy (multiple butterfly finishes).

Up next is the Mark Olson Classic at Curtis High School on April 26-27. Sign up now on our website! And if you’re not attending, please declare your status online.

Once the bubble comes down, we’ll swim every day—even in rain! However, if visibility is poor due to heavy rain or storms, sessions may be canceled. We’ll notify you as early as possible if this happens.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT:

Thank you to everyone who helped make the Kaholo Swim Meet a success! Your efforts ensure our team thrives both in and out of the pool.

Now it’s time for Bubble Down—one of our three biggest volunteer events of the season! We need all hands on deck next Saturday, April 12th. Help us safely take down the bubble and prepare for outdoor swimming.

Remember: Every family is required to complete 15 volunteer hours per year. If you’re unsure of your current tally, email Gwen at [email protected].
