Our coaches are members of USA Swimming and are held to the highest standards of integrity and professionalism. As USA Swimming members, we have access to the most comprehensive education and certification curriculum of any youth sport in the United States. The Seals coaching staff provides a technique-oriented training program that allows swimmers to grow in character, physical development, and skill. In addition, they are fully certified in CPR/First Aid, Safety Training for Swim Coaches and have completed rigorous international background checks.
I have been with the Seals since the spring of 2007 and as a coach, my main focus is to foster an athlete’s love of swimming. My career began at the age of 10 with the ACES Swim Team in Colorado, and I went on to swim with Arapahoe High School and a season at the University of Oregon. Prior to joining the Seals, I coached for three seasons with the Holly Pool summer team in Colorado.
My coaching philosophy is based on proper technique, endurance, and diversity. I hope to make all of my swimmers well rounded, while also ensuring that they have fun. The two life lessons I hope to teach are sportsmanship and the process of goal-setting - using short-term goals to achieve the long-term.
In addition to coaching the Seals, I also manage the Vashon Community Pool and I'm a Red Cross certified lifeguard instructor.
Megan Yeager is a lifelong dancer turned swimmer. She is a lifeguard, swim instructor and water aerobics instructor. She has been with the Vashon Seals since 2024 and is committed to helping children grow as swimmers and strong people inside and out. She believes everyone has something to bring to the table and there are no weak links on a team. She is in constant persuit of learning new things and being the best version of herself. She loves to help others do the same. She is on her way to becoming a firefighter/EMT.
