Our mission is to provide swimmers of all ages and abilities the opportunity to excel in the sport of swimming.

Our program meets the needs of the novice competitive swimmer to State Champions and National Qualifiers. Our Coaching Staff provides swimmers with the opportunity to excel through a structured, encouraging and supportive environment. We believe that success is the result of a solid foundation in the fundamentals of proper stroke technique and balanced workouts.

Swimmers are expected to come to practice ready and willing to strive towards improvement through listening, following directions, working together as a team, and demonstrating respect for their coaches and their teammates. Our coaches know personally that dedication and commitment are important characteristics of a successful competitive swimmer and try to instill these values into our swimmers. The GCY coaching staff also incorporates the four YMCA core values - Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility- into practices and competitions to help aid in our swimmers personal development as well. Our goal is also to help swimmers develop a life-long appreciation for the sport of competitive swimming and learn lessons from their involvement that can be implemented into all facets of their lives.
