Gators attend Preseason Meet at UW Whitewater - Nov 3, 2024
The Green County Family YMCA Gators Swim Team took 9 swimmers to the Fall Starter Invitational meet on November 3rd. It was held at the Williams Center on the UW Whitewater campus and hosted by the J-Hawks. Gators placed 4th in overall team scores, taking 25 places with the women earning 61 points and the men earning 17 points.
Mila Daniels (6) finished first in both the Girls 6 & Under, 25 Freestyle (30.92Y) and 25 Backstroke (30.18Y) and earned the 1st Place Girls 6 & Under High Point Award. Barrett Berg (12) finished first in the Boys 12U, 50 Breaststroke swimming (40.35Y). Barrett Berg also swam state qualifying times in both the Boys 12U 50 Freestyle (28:04Y) and 100 Freestyle (1:01.82Y).
Lauren Kosmosky (10) swam personal best in all her individual events taking second place in the Girls 10U 50 Freestyle (33.58Y), 50 Backstroke (41.13Y) and 50 Breaststroke (46.50Y). Kinsley Huffman (9) also swam personal best in all four individual events placing second in the Girls 9U 50 Butterfly, third place in both 50 Freestyle (38.36Y) and 100 IM (1:51.59Y). Olivia Hustad also collecting personal records at the meet finished third in the Girls 9U 50 Backstroke (46.72Y)
Gators Swim Team has two more preseason meets before the regular short course season kicks off on November 18th. The team will travel to Lake Geneva YMCA for a Conference meet on November 8th and to Cambridge to compete in the Blue Fins Pentathlon on November 16th.
