Green County Gators Swim a Tough Conference Meet

The Green County Gators Swim Team attended the 4 team, 1 day February Conference Champions meet hosted by the Lake Geneva YMCA Ducks Swim Team (GYD) on Sunday February 9th, 2025. Multiple swimmers clocked PRs (personal records) and State Qualifying times for various events. Heat awards were given to 1st place for each event. The Gators had 21 swimmers attend the meet, each swimmer could swim a maximum of 3 individual events. This was a unique meet as all events were swam mixed by age and gender - meaning that each event was swam with ranking being the fastest swimmers no matter their age or gender - so yes it could and did happen that younger kids (9 yo) swam against older kids (17 yo). “Mixed’ meaning both male and female and ‘Open’ means all ages.

The Gators also swam 5 Mixed (Open) 200Y Free Relays. Relay 1 earned 5th with Gunnison Hartley (12), Lauren Kosmosky (11), Brynleigh Wellman (12) and Barrett Berg (13) with 1:59.88.

Relay 2 earned 12th with Stella Rolli (12), Isabella Rake (12), Charlotte Stuessy (11) and Anneliese Ramirez (12) with 2:23.72. Relay 3 earned 17th with Olivia Hustad (9), Wren Hartley (9), Finnley Daniels (9) and Kinsley Huffman (9) with 2:29.89. Relay 4 earned 22nd with Everett Ramirez (8), Ava Anderson (11), Scarlett Hammon (9) and Olive Akins (10) with 2:57.83. Relay 5 swimmers were Mila Daniels (6), Penelope Bailey (9), Espn Martin (7) and Sadie Wellman(8).

Green County Gators will be swimming a Dual Meet with Dane County YMCA United on Saturday February 15th.
