Gators Spring into Competition at Lake Geneva Meet

The Green County YMCA Gators Swim Team competed at the May Conference meet hosted by the Lake Geneva Ducks on Friday, May 16th. Five teams attended, Lake Geneva Ducks, J-Hawks, New Berlin Swim Club, and the Southeastern Aquatics Sea Dragons.  The meet was an open, mixed event meaning that each event is open to all swimmers and girls and boys swam against each other. 

All ten Gator swimmers earned points. The women's team scored a total of 102.5 points and the men’s team took 34 points. Top point earners were Sadie Wellman (8) with 31 pts,  Barrett Berg (13) and Brynleigh Wellman (12) both earned 28pts and Olivia Hustad (9) with 20pts. Mila Daniels (7) took 7 pts, Anneliese Ramirez, Everett Ramirez both earned 6pts. Kinsley Huffman earned 5pts and Sadie Deal took 2pts. 

Barrett Berg (13) took 5th place in the 100Y Free with 55.65, and 5th in the 50Y Free with 25.61.

Finnley Daniels (9) finished 14th in the 50Y Back with 43.88, 16th in the 50Y Free with 35.23 and 17th in 50Y Fly with 43.15. 

Mila Daniels (7) placed 10th in the 25Y Back with 27.81 and 18th in the 25Y Free with 28.43.

Sadie Deal (10)  finished 15th in the 50Y Breaststroke with 59.47 and 50Y Free with 48.66.

Kinsley Huffman placed 12th in 200Y Free with 2:53.95, 22nd in 100Y Free with 1:20.55 and 21st in 50Y Fly with 48.66.

Olivia Hustad took 10th place in the 50Y Back with 40.63, 19th in the 50Y Free with 36.91 and 6th in the 100Y Back with 1:32.59.

Anneliese Ramirez placed 13th in the 50Y Back with 42.87, 15th in the 50Y Free with 34.52 and 17th in the 500Y Free with 7:36.60. 

Everett Ramirez finished 11th in the 50Y Breaststroke with 53.51, 21st in the 100Y Free with 1:19.50 and 21st in the 50Y Free with 37.42.

The Gators will attend the Gavin Breadon Memorial meet hosted by MAST on June 21st at the outdoor pool in Rec Park, Monroe.
