Gators Leave their Mark at the Rockport Swim Meet

Green County Family YMCA Gators swim team showed up ready to race at the Rockport closed invitational swim meet in Janesville on Friday, June 27th, 2025. The long course meet was hosted by the J-Hawks Swim Meet and included a total of seven participating teams - Fort Atkinson Swim Team, Lake Geneva YMCA Ducks, New Berlin Swim Club, Southeastern Aquatics and the Stateline Aquatics Team.  The Gators were represented by nine swimmers and earned a combined score of 109.5 points. The men's team took 4th place with a total of 56 points and the women’s team placed 7th with 53.5 points. 

Barrett Berg (13) earned 50 points by taking 2nd place in both the 8 & Over Mixed 400 Meter Free 5:04.75 and the Mixed 50 Meter Free 28.69 and 3rd place in the Mixed 200 Meter Free 2:28.64.  Barrett also set a new team record for the Boys 13-14 400 Meter Freestyle, which was set in 2018 by Silas Leuthner ( 5:06.49).

Brynleigh Wellman (12) was also a top earner with 21 points taking 4th place in the 8 & Over 400 Meter Mixed Free 6:24.04 and 11th place in the Mixed 100 Meter Back 1:33.68.

Anneliese Ramirez (12) earned 12 points with 7th place in the Mixed 8 & Under 400 Meter Free 6:36.94. Anneliese also placed 19th in the Mixed 100 Meter Back 1:54.93 and 25th in the Mixed 100 Meter Breaststroke 2:10.54.

Olivia Hustad (9) earned 11 points placing 6th in the mixed 12 & Under 50 Meter Backstroke 48.84 and 14th in the Mixed Meter Free 3:330.71 and 16th in the mixed 100 Meter Backstroke 1:44.39.

Kinsley Huffman (10) earned 9 points taking 9th place in the Mixed 12 & Under 50 Meter Butterfly 52.38. Kinsley also placed 17th in the Mixed 12 & Under 50 Meter Free 40.91 and 32nd in the Mixed 100 Meter Free 1:30.22

Everett Ramirez (9) earned 6 points placing 13th in the Mixed 12 & Under 50 Meter Backstroke 50.26 and 15th place in the Mixed 12 & Under 50 Meter Breaststroke 1:02.90. He also took 30th in the Mixed 100 Meter Free 1:29.85.

Sadie Wellman (8) earned .5 points with a 16th place in the Mixed 12 & Under 50 Meter Backstroke 53.55. She also placed 45th in the Mixed 12 & Under 50 Meter Free 52.25

Sadie Deal (11) took 48th in the Mixed 12 & Under 50 Meter Free 55.34 and 51st in the Mixed 12 & Under 50 Meter Backstroke 1:11.93.

Scarlett Hammon (9) placed 17th in the Mixed 12 & Under 50 Meter Breaststroke 1:07.63, 27th in the Mixed 12 & Under 50 Meter Backstroke 57.08 and 43rd in the Mixed 12 & Under 50 Meter Free 50.93.

The Gators will swim at the July 1st meet against MAST and Evansville at the Monroe Rec Park Pool and then against MAST and Sugar River Rapids on July 2nd in New Glarus.
