TIPS FOR THE SWIM PARENT
-
Put your child's participation in perspective. Don't make swimming everything in your child's life; make it a part of life.
-
Understand what your child wants from swimming, and provide a supportive atmosphere for achieving these goals. Please, feel free to communicate these goals with the coaches!
-
Support your child set challenging, but realistic, performance goals. Remember to focus on the overall performance, rather than on "winning or getting best times."
-
Support your child in meeting the responsibilities to the team and to the coaches.
-
Always offer encouragement.
