Dawn, a mother of 6 herself, has been a member of our Woodbridge family since 1995 and has been coaching the Woodbridge Swim Team since 1999 and has been our Head Coach since 2006. She is a USA Swimming member coach and an ASCA member coach. Many of our Junior Olympic champs have been with Coach Dawn since their early days as beginners.
As Head Coach, Dawn has led our team to multiple victories such as:
- 3 Irvine Swim League Championships
- 5 Division Winners
- 6 Dolphin League Summer Championships
- 5 Fall Championships
- Numerous High Point Winners
- Multiple Jr. Olympic Qualifiers
James, the oldest of the 6 Hickson children, has been a swimmer for the Woodbridge Swim Team since 1995 and has been a coach since 2004. James is an accomplished athlete: Woodbridge record holder, Swimmer of the Year at Saddleback College, ISL Championships winner, and a Southern California Swimming Zone Championship competitor. Most notable to date, he is the 2023 ISL coach of the year!
James is a certified lifeguard and CPR instructor, and a proud USA Swimming member coach and an ASCA member coach.
In case you've heard your kids talking about the swim coach at Woodbridge High School, he is on his 8th season there!
Keith has a special interest in physical fitness and began his coaching career by volunteering his time with our youngest swimmers in 2009. He has brought many tadpoles to the next level and so much more!
Marley has been coaching for seven years and is currently a long term substitute teacher for IUSD. She graduated from Concordia in May 2021 and was a swimmer on their collegiate swim team.
Last but not least and the youngest of the Hicksons, we have Coach Marin. Coach Marin has been a swimmer for 14 years. and was on the swim team and waterpolo team for Woodbridge High School. Our future Triton swimmers are lucky to have her as she is now at a local junior college.
