WYNS Home Meet Agreement
All swim team members are required to participate as set forth in this Home Swim Meet Agreement. WYNS sponsors multiple swim meets each year. Home meets are held to raise needed funds for our organization. I understand that my family is expected to work the required amount of shifts at each home swim meet held during a season in which my children are registered. The number of shifts required will be posted on our website and communicated to members via email.
If your child is a WYNS registered swimmer this is the volunteer requirements by month:
-
Jan–Mar: YMCA Sectionals Meet
-
Apr–Jun: Any hosted spring/summer meet (if applicable)
-
Sep–Nov: Turkey Splash Meet
-
Dec–Feb: WYNS Winter Challenge Meet
If unable to work a shift, families must find a replacement or will be charged $100 per missed shift.
Families are required to fulfill their volunteer requirements even if their swimmer does not participate in the meet.
Volunteer FAQs
- Why do we have to volunteer?
Our home meets are our only ‘required’ fundraiser and help to keep our participation fees as low as possible. It takes everyone on the team to do their part to help ensure that we run a successful meet, which in turn helps us raise more funds for our team. - What if something prevents me from being able to volunteer?
If a family is unable to attend and volunteer for the required shifts of a meet, they will be expected to find a replacement or understand they will be charged $100 per shift. - Can someone volunteer on my behalf?
A shift can be fulfilled by you, a relative, friend, neighbor, or any individual who can effectively fulfill the volunteer position. Please communicate to the Meet Director if someone else is completing your shift so you won’t be charged. - What volunteer shift is the best choice for me?
Some parents prefer to volunteer for sessions when their swimmers are competing; others prefer to volunteer only when their swimmer is not competing. Some volunteer jobs (such as timer, runner, heat winner) require you to be on the pool deck at all times and make you unable to be with your swimmer or any other family member. - Do I have to volunteer if my child does not participate in the meet?
Yes - Families are required to fulfill their volunteer requirements even if their swimmer does not participate in the meet.
