Swim Lesson Instructor - Now hiring for the 2025 season!

Job Description

 

The FAST Swim Lesson program is a fun, engaging, and effective learn-to-swim program. And we want you to join us! Our swim lesson program is designed for children 3-12 years of age with a range of swimming abilities from those with no experience to those preparing to begin competitive swim team. Our lessons are 30 minutes in length and have an instructor to student ratio of 1:3 to 1:6 depending on ability and skill level.

 

As an instructor you will focus on teaching water safety and the foundations of swimming including floating, breathing, body awareness, and comfortability in the water. You will also teach the four competitive swimming strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly.

 

FAST swim lesson instructors must be engaging and exemplify high integrity and high energy during all lessons. Our swim lesson instructors must be able to connect with children to ensure a fun and positive experience. Instructors will be in the water with students at all levels. Our lesson season runs March through October with paid training beginning in February. Apply now!

 

Job Requirements

  • Previous swimming experience at the club or high school level
  • Solid knowledge of all four swimming strokes
  • Previous experience working with young children, and comfortability with children who have little to no experience in the water
  • Red Cross Lifeguard Certification (or equivalent) (or willing to achieve)
  • Means of transportation that will allow for dependability

 

Job Details

  • This position requires availability Monday-Friday from 3:15-6:45 p.m.
  • Saturday hours available from 9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.
  • $18-$20/hour – dependent on experience
  • Approximately 15-17 hours per week with additional hours available in June and July
  • Bonus pay packages available
  • Working breaks built into the daily schedule
  • Training upon hiring
  • Certifications upon hiring
  • Work begins in February
