The Aiken Armada Swim Team was established in 2018 at the Aiken County Family YMCA.

Our swim team is registered with both the YMCA and USA Swimming. All registered swimmers are eligible to compete at any YMCA sanctioned swim meet. To participate in a USA sanctioned swim meet, a swimmer must also register with USA Swimming.

Our facility offers a 25 meter outdoor pool that is covered with a dome in the winter to enable it to be used year-round. The pool facility also has a slide pool, lazy river, and splash pool during the summer months that can be used by members of the family.

Coaching Staff

Brooke Mason Head Coach

Brooke Mason began her swim career when she joined swim team at the age of four.  She continued to compete year-round at the club, high school and collegiate levels.  She was All-American during high school both athletically and academically.  Brooke began to teach lessons and to coach while in high school for her local team.  She has continued to teach lessons for 25 years, both at the group level and private level.  During and after college, she also coached first as an assistant then as head coach for both the Logan Gators and Sky View High School.  After moving to Mississippi and then to South Carolina, she still continued to teach group and semi-private lessons and resumed coaching for various teams as her schedule allowed with young children.

Brooke came to the YMCA in 2017 and helped found Aiken Armada Swim Team as we know it today.  When she arrived at the team, it had a mere one swimmer and she was instrumental in growing it to 55 swimmers in just one year.  Brooke also works as the Swim Lessons Coordinator at the YMCA.

JP is the head coach for Houndslake Swim Team and assistant coach for Midland Valley High School.  He competed at the Aiken-Augusta Swim League, Houndslake Swim Team, Aiken High School, and the University of South Carolina.
