Uniforms and Equipment

Suits

• We encourage female swimmers to wear a basic one-piece competition suit and males to wear either a speedo or jammer style suit during practice and meets. 
• We do not mandate a team suit for meets. 
• Some swimmers ages 13 and older choose to purchase a Tech Suit for major competitions.  The YMCA has a supply of these suits and you may contact the aquatics director, Jess Bacon, or a member of the coaching staff if you are interested in purchasing one.

Team Shirts/Caps

• Swimmers are encouraged to purchase and wear team t-shirts at meets.  Each swimmer will be provided a latex team cap upon entering into their first competition.  Additional caps can be purchased through the YMCA, $4 for a latex and $14 for a silicone cap.

Other Equipment

• Goggles are highly encouraged.  The YMCA has a supply of Finis goggles for purchase and you can inquire either aquatics director Jess Bacon at [email protected] or speak with any of the coaching staff to purchase a pair.
• The YMCA has a limited supply of kickboards and fins to use during practice.  Swimmers that borrow any equipment are expected to return equipment to the storage box at the conclusion of practice.  If your child would like to purchase a kickboard, you can order through our sponsor Finis here.  We highly encourage swimmers to purchase their own fins as they are size specific and you can order through Finis in the link above.
